I stumbled upon these colourful and happy images in my folders the other day and thought they were the perfect match for our current Kawaii Issue.
The idea for the shoot was to go on a Hanami (花見?, lit. "flower viewing") - which is the Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the transient beauty of flowers, "flower" in this case almost always meaning cherry blossoms ("sakura") or (less often) plum blossoms. I'm a total sucker for this awesome time of the year and it honestly takes my breath away every time.
They were shot in April, when the Cherryblossoms where strutting there pretty pinkness here in Copenhagen. They have never been shown anywhere before - so here's a Friday treat for you lovely readers and followers - just because!
Feast your eyes on an explosion of springtime pink before we say goodbye to the sun for the next few months until it's time to go on Hanamis again.
